RIP, Danny Kahneman

How about a psychologist (who never took an economics class) who wins the Nobel Prize in economics? What a fascinating and brilliant man. I sure wish I had had the chance to talk with him or meet him.

Just One Thing: Three Cheers for the Maryland Transportation Authority Police

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police…I didn’t know there was such an organization…should be holding their heads very high today.

While I don’t know how long it took for someone there to initially react to the mayday call of the disabled container ship that eventually destroyed the Key Bridge in Baltimore, a transcript of the police radio channel shows that from the time a dispatcher got on the radio to tell the police to hold traffic to the bridge, traffic was blocked at one end in 20 seconds, on half of the other end in 65 seconds, and in no more than 117 seconds for the remaining part of that other end, but it was probably less.

Even in the middle of the night, that incredible reaction time saved quite a few lives. Hats off to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

Bad parents and teachers and administrators have enabled these cretins

Look, there have always been campus protesters. But never have they been as whiney and entitled and moronic as today's college students. This has to stop. I'm glad some of these people were arrested and quite a few more were suspended. Not sure if that's enough but it's a start. Colleges must tell students now, and then at the beginning of every semester that there's a difference between free speech, including protests, and disrupting college activities, and the latter will not be tolerated.

Matt Snider is an Aurora Civil Service Commissioner. He sued Aurora over the City Council repealing pit bull ban after voters voted to keep the ban in place. We have the result of the case now. So are pit bulls legal or illegal in Aurora and, more importantly, can we count on the City Council to actually abide by the law? To be clear, most (or maybe all...I'm not sure) of the members of the City Council involved in the decision challenged in the lawsuit are gone and the city attorney who supported them has announced his retirement.

Here's a story about the case going back to court...during the show we'll tell you what the judge then ruled: Appeals court sides with Aurora man, revives case challenging repeal of city’s pit bull ban - Sentinel Colorado

I still wouldn't vote for John Fetterman but he's so much better than what I'd expected. Well, actually Dr Oz was so freakin' terrible that if I knew then about Fetterman what I know now (and if I voted in PA), I might actually have considered it. OK, no I wouldn't have. (But I also wouldn't have voted for Oz.) But watch or read this and tell me you're not significantly pleasantly surprised:
