Mon Blogcast: So much braindamage; drinking coffee as God intended

Ronald Reagan on campus protests

Normally I'd put a video at the end but this one is a must

Just One Thing: Why is there so much brain damage?

I have more questions than answers for you in today’s Ross Report, but it’s a start. We’ve seen scenes across the country, some more chaotic than others, of students and non-students protesting on college campuses, wearing PLO-style terrorist head scarves and cheering for Palestine with various slogans that mean they want every Jew, or at least every Israeli, dead. It’s only a small minority of the student body, but it’s still a heck of a lot of brain damage on display. How can there be so much identical brain damage at so many schools? What is the pedagogical source? What is the financial source? Billions of dollars have funneled into our universities from the Middle East. That’s a problem but it’s not the only problem. These are critical questions. Fortunately, lots of folks will now be looking for answers.

And of course, the recent (lack of) reaction to wildly, threateningly anti-Semitic protests on campuses was repugnant, as Abigail Shrier explains: Abigail Shrier: There Are Two Sets of Rules for Speech | The Free Press (thefp.com)

Today's Guest

Neal McCluskey is the Director of the Center for Educational Freedom at the Cato Institute, America's premiere libertarian think-tank. We'll discuss the spectacular failure of the Biden administration's revamp of the federal system to apply for student financial aid. We'll also talk a bit about Biden's disgusting (and almost certainly illegal) scheme to transfer student loan debt from the people who took out the loans and got the educations to every other taxpayer, and about Congress' impulse to get involved in policing anti-Semitic speech on college campuses.

Wow. One of the few apparently sane and moderate Democrats looks to be the next Sen Menendez. Pretty unlikely DOJ brings these charges without an exceedingly strong case, especially against a Democrat even if he's not a rabid leftist.

This video started a big online discussion. I have to say 1) if a big % of women are saying "bear" then it's probably a very self-selected group, not a random sample. 2) How many women who are afraid of men are so because of personal experience or even the experience of someone one person removed, i.e. a story they heard from the person who experienced it, but not more removed than that?

If you read this woman's reaction, it's rather remarkable in its misandry. (Everyone knows the word "misogyny" but how many people know the male equivalent?) And I think it's also a bunch of data abuse: Women: Would you rather meet a bear or a man alone in the woods? I’d pick the bear | Opinion (yahoo.com)
